Research assistant working on innovative aircraft cabin design and biomechanical systems at Toronto Metropolitan University's Aerospace Engineering Center.
At the Toronto Metropolitan University Aerospace Engineering Center, I worked as a research assistant for aircraft cabin projects funded by Bombardier. Unfortunately due to patentable information, much of what I worked on cannot be discussed. However, the bulk of my duties involved designing biomechanical systems to improve the comfort of aircraft cabins during flight. I regularly used SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion, and Ansys to simulate these systems before implementation.
The main project I worked on was a pressure responding chair. During long flights, passengers experience discomfort due to rigid cabin chairs. The pressure responding chair responded to a user's weight distribution throughout the flight by providing counteracting forces which improved a passenger's comfort.
I really enjoyed the work I did there, as it was a great experience to work on really interesting graduate projects, which is something I'd love to lead myself someday!
